Shop, store, cook and eat safe

The Department of Health has launched a new animation ‘Shop, store, cook and eat safe’ that illustrates the importance of food safety in the home.

Food poisoning can be serious for unborn babies, young children, older people, and people with conditions that weaken their immune systems - but there are easy steps we can all take to prevent getting sick.

The animation stars Brian, Bobby, Billy and Bernie bacteria and reminds us of the importance of keeping bacteria away by shopping, storing, cooking and eating safely. It is also available in Arabic, Vietnamese and Simplified Chinese.

The Victorian State Trauma System (VSTS) aims to facilitate the management and treatment of major trauma patients throughout Victoria and strives to deliver the right patient to the right hospital in a safe and timely manner.

In an innovative first for Victoria, a comprehensive state wide educational resource has been established for clinical staff who provide early emergency care for major trauma patients outside of a Major Trauma Service.

The website is targeted at a broad audience to allow individual health services to adapt and use content relevant to both geographical location and services available.

The Trauma Education initiative is a collaborative project between the Department of Health and Adult Retrieval Victoria on behalf of the Victorian State Trauma System.

The website provides

  • Web based guidelines
  • Posters
  • Educational resources
  • Useful trauma care links

Coming in 2015
