Aim of the Service:
- To improve community awareness of the danger of asthma;
- To provide individuals and groups with the knowledge and skills to manage asthma;
- To work with individuals and community groups to promote prevention of asthma attacks; and
- To assist those who suffer from asthma to reach optimal health and well being.
The Service Includes:
Individual and group education in:
- What is asthma?
- Understanding the severity of your asthma, and how to manage it;
- Understanding medications;
- Identifying and avoiding trigger factors;
- Developing action plans for young people with asthma;
- How to maintain optimal health and wellbeing;
- Equipment checks;
- School education programs; and
- Sporting and community group education.
