Asthma Education

Aim of the Service:

  • To improve community awareness of the danger of asthma;
  • To provide individuals and groups with the knowledge and skills to manage asthma;
  • To work with individuals and community groups to promote prevention of asthma attacks; and
  • To assist those who suffer from asthma to reach optimal health and well being.

The Service Includes:

Individual and group education in:

  • What is asthma?
  • Understanding the severity of your asthma, and how to manage it;
  • Understanding medications;
  • Identifying and avoiding trigger factors;
  • Developing action plans for young people with asthma;
  • How to maintain optimal health and wellbeing;
  • Equipment checks;
  • School education programs; and
  • Sporting and community group education.
